Blog Introduction: About me
Starting as a Primary School teacher, working closely with students, teachers and families across varied settings, and encompassing many roles over almost three decades, I came to know that a holistic consideration of individual needs is the best approach to education. This approach encompasses multiple dimensions including cognitive, emotional, physical, and social elements, and together support the development of confidence, resilience and grit, necessary for academic and personal growth and achievement.
Engaging in further study in the field of Psychology, I developed a keen interest in the area of Positive Psychology. Positive Psychology is the scientific study of factors that enable individuals and communities to thrive. Founded on the belief that people intrinsically desire meaningful and fulfilling lives, research focuses on investigating ways people can build strengths to enable them to achieve the best things in life.
Expanding from school students to include the wider community, I recognise the need for all people to develop skills and strategies to flourish and live their best life. This blog focuses on positive wellbeing and resilience, and strategies that support this development. We all need strategies to support our wellbeing through the highs, lows, challenges and complexities of life, and to flourish regardless of circumstances.
